The Future of Charging is Here - and It’s Ready to Ship

We recently introduced ChargeBridge as the future of software-defined charging, designed to make building EV chargers easier, faster, and more secure. Today, we are thrilled to announce that this future is now tangible. You can now order ChargeBridge evaluation kits directly from our online shop.

Whether you are developing a residential AC wallbox, a high-power DC fast charger, or a complex hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test setup, we have the hardware to get you started immediately. And of course it works flawlessly out-of-the box with the Linux Foundation Energy project EVerest that we initiated.

We are launching with three core products designed to cover every stage of your development cycle:

ChargeBridge EV Evaluation Kit EVSE side

The ultimate tool for charging station development. This breakout board makes all ChargeBridge module interfaces accessible via convenient connectors, serving as a flexible foundation for both AC and DC application.

Key Features:

  • Versatile: Supports development for both AC and DC fast charging (CCS) scenarios with full DIN SPEC 70121/ISO15118-2/-20 support
  • Ethernet or USB connection to Linux host
  • Interfaces: Full access to CAN (for power supplies), RS485 (for insulation monitors/meters), UART, 3x relay drivers, temperature measurements, emergency I/O and GPIOs.
  • Lab Ready: Perfect for desk setups, HIL test benches, as a reference design for custom carrier boards or for your fully fledged PoC Charger
  • Compatibility: Designed for the ChargeBridge Module (M.2) and seamless EVerest integration.
  • DC Capability: Enables testing of DC charging sequences up to 1000V when connected to external HV components.
  • 12V-24V supply voltage

ChargeBridge AC Satellite Evaluation Board

Accelerate your AC charging station development. The ChargeBridge AC Evaluation Board is a fully populated evaluation board designed for Evaluation of ChargeBridge and EVerest for Classic AC Chargers as well as "Satellite Architectures." It allows you to control a charging point via an external compute unit (e.g. LFE EVerest running on your laptop, or a Linux SOM), making it ideal for prototyping and testing.

Key Features:

  • Application: Development of single-phase or three-phase AC charging systems (up to 400V).
  • Architecture: Reference Board to start to develop your next-generation AC Charger.
  • Connectivity: Seamless connection to the host via Ethernet or USB.
  • Compatibility: Designed for the ChargeBridge Module (M.2) and seamless EVerest integration.

Integrated Control: Includes relays control, CP/PP interfaces, and support for ISO 15118-2/Plug & Charge (when used with EVerest).

ChargeBridge EV Evaluation Kit – car side

An EV to ease your charging station development or HIL Testing setup. This kit includes a ChargeBridge module for the EV side, the breakout board is the same as for the EVSE side.

Use in combination with the EVSE side breakout board to build a desk top setup with both sides and two EVerest instances and watch the ISO charging session between them. Or plug it in into any charger, run EVerest EV side on a Linux computer and plug/unplug the EV remotely to build your own HIL testing setup that can also tunnel local buses such as your debug UART console.

This breakout board makes all ChargeBridge module interfaces accessible via convenient connectors, serving as a flexible foundation for both AC and DC application.

Key Features:

  • Versatile: Supports development for both AC and DC fast charging (CCS) scenarios with full DIN SPEC 70121/ISO15118-2/-20 support (EV side)
  • Ethernet or USB connection to Linux host
  • Interfaces: Full access to CAN (for power supplies), RS485 (for insulation monitors/meters), UART, 3x relay drivers, temperature measurements, emergency I/O and GPIOs.

Open Hardware for an Open Ecosystem

True to our roots in the open-source community, we aren't just selling you hardware; we are giving you the blueprints to innovate.

While the ChargeBridge module protects your safety-critical logic, the carrier boards are Open Hardware

We have released the KiCad project files for both the AC Satellite and the Evaluation Board on GitHub,. You can use these designs as a reference to build your own custom baseboards, reducing your time-to-market significantly.

Get Started in Minutes

We know that hardware is only as good as its documentation. We have published comprehensive "Getting Started" guides that walk you through unboxing, connecting to EVerest, and initiating your first charging session.

AC Charging: Learn how to charge a real vehicle using ISO 15118-2.

DC Charging: Set up a full DC charging lab with isolation monitors and power supplies.

Desk Setup: Run a simulated charging session between two kits on your desk.
